On December 1st, 2025, Jon Stewart, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert didn't hold back when addressing President Trump's recent actions. The focal point of their comedic outrage? Trump's controversial Truth Social post where he used an ableist slur to describe Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a former Vice Presidential candidate. But here's where it gets controversial... is this simply political banter, or does it cross a line into unacceptable behavior, especially from a leader?
Kimmel, on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," sarcastically quipped, "I wonder why he didn't get that Nobel Peace Prize," highlighting the perceived absurdity of Trump's actions. Meanwhile, on "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart didn't mince words, calling the insult "nonsense" and questioning the timing of the attack – during Thanksgiving, no less. "On Thanksgiving?!" Stewart exclaimed, painting a picture of the White House press corps forced to endure Trump's pronouncements over the holiday weekend. He then played a clip of Trump doubling down on the insult, saying, "Yeah, I think there's something wrong with him."
Stewart's exasperation was palpable. He questioned Trump's priorities, imagining the President, "sitting with your family, Thanksgiving, belly full of turkey and pie, surrounded by the love of your extended crime family, but your initial instinct was to Truth a slur at Tim Walz?"
